Paramount’s plans for a Transformers cinematic universe continue apace.
Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 screenwriter Zak Penn and The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Jeff Pinkner are all in talks to join the writing team for future movies, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The writers will join Akiva Goldsman, who was named in March as being in charge of developing future movie projects based on the Hasbro toy property.
Michael Bay, who has directed the four Transformers movies to date, will produce alongside Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, both of whom have been involved with the franchise since 2007’s first installment.
The last Transformers movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction, made $1.1 billion internationally when it was released last year.
Deadline Hollywood initially reported the news.
